Ethiopia to digitally map 150 towns

Ethiopia: The Ethiopian Ministry of Urban Development & Construction, Urban Development Capacity Building Office (UDCBO) set up 29 SUMMIT Evolution digital photogrammetric workstations from DAT/EM Systems International. In conjunction with the World Bank, the Ethiopian UDCBO office selected the workstation to support their base map preparation for 150 towns throughout Ethiopia.

According to Stan Moll, DAT/EM’s International Business Development Manager and Project Lead, “this purchase of state-of-the-art digital workstations by the Ethiopian government will allow them to efficiently accomplish their goal of developing current and geospatially correct Digital Base Maps from satellite imagery for urban planning and development activities and also digital base map preparation for other big projects planned in the Growth and Transformation Plan of Ethiopia, such as agriculture, infrastructure, utility, etc projects.”
