Aylesbury, UK: Esri UK signed a framework agreement with the Isle of Man Government (IoMG) for the future provision of GIS software and services across all its government departments. The agreement includes the implementation of Esri UK’s LocalView Fusion, a next generation GIS solution that provides local authorities with up-to-date geographical insight. It will enable them to align the provision of services with demand, maximise resources and support the delivery of ‘better for less’ services.
According to the Esri UK’s press statement, Esri UK is associated with the IoMG from last 19 years. IoMG has good understanding of the powerful ability of GIS to drive smarter government operations, supporting all aspects of decision making. The intention is to use GIS to benefit employees of the Government, citizens of the Isle of Man and the wider public and, specifically, with LocalView Fusion, drive efficiency savings by facilitating greater access to ‘self service’ operations to significantly reduce the cost of servicing citizens’ enquiries.
“The Isle of Man Government, in delivering the full range of local and central government services including many utility, heritage and environmental functions can, despite its modest size, benefit substantially from consolidating spatial solutions,” said Juan Bridson, MANNGIS Project Manager.
