ESRI India, the GIS arm of IT major NIIT Technologies and US-based ESRI Inc, have drawn up plans to launch the authorised learning centre programme with a view to prepare professionals in GIS technology.
ESRI India, which started the first franchised GIS authorised learning programme in Chennai earlier this year, plans to partner with entrepreneurs to open education centres in 10 major towns. ESRI India will train career aspirants and professionals by transferring GIS technology to the ALCs. GIS users in government and private sector can also avail of training at the ALCs.
The ALC Program aims to meet the growing demand for skilled GIS professionals in transportation, civic services, utilities, forestry, earth and atmospheric sciences.
