Esri Thailand expects 50 percent growth

Thailand: In 2010, Esri Thailand earned THB 1.3 billion (THB: Thai Baht) revenue and the company is expecting about THB 2 billion revenue in 2011, growth of about 50 per cent, according to Krairop Luanguthai, General Manager of ESRI Thailand.

Luanguthai said the company was focusing on two main areas, GIS solutions and Garmin GPS devices, providing hardware and infrastructure to businesses and other customers. The firm provides solutions such as call-centre tracking, which is a system using both GPS and GIS technology to track any vehicle by a Web application in real time, and tax mapping to support both the private and government sectors.

He said the firm had distributed about 100,000 Garmin units of the total annual market of 150,000 such devices, and more than 70 per cent were sold to women. This year, it will expand its customer base to older and retired people.
