India – ESRI India welcomes the new Chief Operating Officer Mr. Mukund Rao strengthening it top management team. Mukund joined ESRI India in August. He will be based at ESRI India Corporate Office, New Delhi.
Mukund who is a Doctorate in Remote Sensing and GIS from Andhra University has over 29 years of experience. He has spent the last 3 years in Navyuga Spatial Technologies as a CEO focusing on building and developing GIS business.
Prior to that he has worked with ISRO in the area of IRS satellite systems and developing various national and international GIS programs.
Welcoming the new member to the management team, Mr. Rajesh C. Mathur, President ESRI India, said, “We are delighted to have Mukund on board. He has been a part of the Indian GIS community for more than two decades. His understanding of the marketplace and passion for GIS technology are a perfect combination to lead our vision – GIS for everyone and everywhere.”
Some of his major achievements have been the association with various professional organizations. He was the First President of GSDI Association and Vice President of Indian Astronautical Federation. He is also actively involved in strategizing and positioning of NSDI and NUIS. Mukund is recipient of Hari Om Ashram Vikram Sarabhai Young Scientist Award for work done in the field of GIS and Remote Sensing.
