ESRI announces ArcGIS 8.2 support for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET

ESRI has announced ArcGIS 8.2 support for Microsoft Visual Studio® .NET, a comprehensive development environment for creating advanced applications. ESRI’s support for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET provides developers with the ability to build better mapping applications and ArcGIS extensions using ArcGIS ArcObjects controls and objects. ArcGIS is a scalable system of software for geographic data creation, management, integration, analysis, and dissemination for every organization, from an individual to a globally distributed network of people. This development is the latest in ESRI’s ongoing creation and support of industry-standard, open technology that facilitates greater adoption of GIS into mainstream business and application development.

To help developers using GIS and mapping utilities get the most out of their Microsoft Visual Studio .NET experience, ESRI is providing signed Microsoft Visual Studio .NET assemblies. These assemblies, along with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET specific documentation and samples (for Visual Basic .NET and Visual C# .NET), are available from ESRI’s ArcObjects Online Web site.
