ESi(R) Releases WebEOC(R) Mapper Lite, Free to All Licensed Customers

AUGUSTA, Ga., May 28 /PRNewswire/ — ESi has released a new GIS product that is free for all WebEOC(R) 7 license holders. The new application, WebEOC(R) Mapper Lite, integrates online mapping with WebEOC to spatially display information associated with WebEOC status boards.

WebEOC Mapper Lite provides quick and easy mapping in WebEOC, including built-in street and satellite maps and built-in address location. With WebEOC Mapper Lite, users can view real-time data from WebEOC status boards as points on a map with point colors that reflect each item’s status. For example, a shelter status board can be built to track location and status of each shelter within a jurisdiction. When a map is brought up from within the shelter status board, a point is displayed for each shelter. Each point could be green or red, to reflect whether each shelter is open or closed.

“WebEOC(R) Mapper Lite is the perfect tool to introduce our customers to the robust mapping solutions offered by ESi,” said Adam Geitgey, ESi’s product manager for Mapper. “With WebEOC Mapper Lite, ESi provides customers with the GIS capability needed to make better decisions during an emergency.”

ESi introduced WebEOC Mapper Professional last year as an add-on product for WebEOC, a Web-enabled emergency management communications system designed for public and private organizations involved in homeland security and emergency operations. WebEOC Mapper Professional provides users with powerful tools to create a dynamic, geographically based common operating picture and the ability to view data from multiple WebEOC screens simultaneously on a centralized map. It allows fast data access and dissemination critical to all phases of preparedness and response to both commanders working in an emergency operations center and first responders in the field.

WebEOC Mapper Lite provides users with core mapping functionality while WebEOC(R) Mapper Professional delivers the full power of GIS. Although the two versions are similar, there are several features only included in WebEOC Mapper Professional:

  • Support for custom GIS Maps
  • Ability to import data feeds
  • Capability to integrate with existing GIS infrastructure
  • Expanded map symbology
