Norcross, GA, USA– ERDAS Inc. announces the release of ERDAS Software 2009, Version 9.3.2, featuring the complete portfolio of Geospatial Business Systems for authouring, managing, connecting and delivering information. This includes new releases of ERDAS IMAGINE, LPS, ERDAS ER Mapper, ERDAS Extensions for ArcGIS, ERDAS APOLLO and ERDAS Image Web Server.
This release is part of ERDAS’ annual release schedule, which includes a major release of ERDAS products each Fall, as well as a minor release in the Spring. Some of these products offer free or trial downloads. ERDAS TITAN will be released later in April. Software maintenance customers may download the new versions of their products from www.erdas.com/support. Some of the new features included in this release are outlined below.
In the desktop products, ERDAS IMAGINE now supports the COSMO-SkyMed radar sensor satellites, read support for Enhanced Compressed Raster Graphics (ECRG) and enables much faster creation of RPF Defense data. LPS has improved the support for defense-oriented workflows in the IMAGINE Defense Productivity Module, enhanced performance in LPS Core and made the Stereo and Classic Point Measurement tools easier to use. In ERDAS ER Mapper there is an ECW compression upgrade and increased projection support. ERDAS Terrain Editor for ArcGIS and FeatureAssist for ArcGIS are two new add-on modules for Stereo Analyst® for ArcGIS®. ERDAS Terrain Editor for ArcGIS provides a set of tools for users to update a Geodatabase Terrain file. FeatureAssist for ArcGIS can be used for the collection of complex roof structures in the ESRI Multipatch format.
For the enterprise products, ERDAS APOLLO provides client-side SLD styling, a high performance interoperable catalog, NITF output format with DOD metadata management and Oracle 11g support. ERDAS TITAN Viewer can now be used as a standalone application. ERDAS TITAN also offers the ability to broadcast one search query to multiple ERDAS APOLLO Image Managers. ERDAS Image Web Server now includes Optimized Tile Delivery, serving more than 4,000 tiles in one second. With Optimized Tile Delivery, a single ERDAS Image Web Server replaces an entire server farm and/or caching system when providing tile-based geographic data. ERDAS Image Web Server also offers persistent cache in the ECWP web browser plug-in and an ESRI ArcGIS Server ECW connector.
