RADARSAT International (RSI) announced that it is open for ENVISAT business. As a member of the SARCOM consortium, RSI distributes worldwide data and downlinks from the Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASAR) instrument on board the ENVISAT satellite to clients in North and South America. In addition, RSI produces and provides value-added ENVISAT products for clients and projects worldwide.
The ASAR instrument offers various modes of data collection as well as multi-polarization. The new options afforded by this radar data – such as multi-polarization – will be especially useful in applications requiring land classification or discrimination such as wetlands, agriculture and forestry.
RSI is currently upgrading their data processor located in Quebec, Canada, using European Space Agency (ESA) -endorsed procedures and software. By investing in an ESA certified processor, RSI will be able to offer fully calibrated and consistent high-quality data. RSI has been offering radar products and services since 1993.
