EIAST signs MoU for crisis management system

UAE: The Department of Municipal Affairs – Al Ain Municipality in the United Arab Emirate, and the Emirates Institution for Advanced Science & Technology (EIAST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU aims to improve institutional performance, simplify customer services procedures and develop joint activities. It will also strengthen the technical and administrative capacities of staff members.
As per the agreement, a system to manage crisis and risks is being developed and adopted in addition to a mechanism to transport, transfer and protect satellite images.
Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi, Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Management, Al Ain Municipality, said: “The agreement will serve Al Ain Municipality in the fields of spatial data and maps, GIS maps and analysis that are used in applications on the environment, health, planning and urban development, which are essential goals of Al Ain Municipality.”
“The MoU is in line with our commitment to supporting partnerships and strengthening synergies with various government bodies to achieve common objectives as per a specific timetable for following up proposed joint projects. The agreement plays a vital role in developing a framework for joint action and future collaborations in various areas, as well as establishes key performance indicators to measure the output of the cooperation,” said Ahmed Al Mansoori, Director General of EIAST.
The two organisations will also develop a mechanism for the implementation of an integrated system to connect and exchange views. They will exchange and update data and information, research, studies and statistics, reports and publications in various disciplines, as well as hold workshops and scientific conferences, forums and seminars of common interests.
