Ecuadorian satellite transmits first images

Ecuador: The first Ecuadorian satellite, the Pegasus, transmitted on May 16, the first live video signals with images of planet Earth. The images were broadcast from the Central Headquarters of the Integrated Security Service of the town of San Borondón, in the city of Guayaquil.

Pegasus is a nanosatellite weighing 1.2 kilograms, 75 centimeters long and 10 high, which unfolds in space solar panels. The Ecuadorian satellite orbits at an altitude of 650 kilometers above the Earth, with an inclination of 98.05 degrees and a beta angle of 22.05 degrees. The launch took place on 25th April from the Jiuquan spaceport, in China.
