DynCorp, an information technology and management & operations solutions company, announced that its subsidiary, DynCorp Systems & Solutions LLC (DSS), was awarded a five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to provide environmental and information technology (IT) consulting services to Air Force units at locations around the world. In addition to providing personnel to help Air Force installations achieve compliance with federally mandated environmental standards, DSS consultants will aid Air Force units in becoming compliant with the Joint Technical Architecture, the U.S. Department of Defense’s common standard for IT systems.
The services available through the contract, called GEITA (Global Engineering, Integration & Technical Assistance), are aligned in three functional areas: Management Applications, Engineering / Scientific Applications and Information Technology. They include activities such as strategic planning, risk analysis, process re-engineering, compliance consulting and ISO implementation. GEITA also encompasses technical evaluation and cost modeling, laboratory analysis, remote sensing, pollution prevention and statistical analysis, GIS system integration, wireless communications, secure networking and development of web enabled applications.
DSS has established an office in San Antonio, Texas in order to work closely with the contracting authority, the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence, based at Brooks Air Force Base, Texas.
