US: DRS Technologies has revealed that it’s Aviation, Communications and Homeland Security (ACHS) business group will be supporting US Army battlefield operations around the world by providing satellite and terrestrial communications capabilities. DRS has been awarded access to an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide communications and transmission systems as part of a five-year contract. As one of the prime contractors awarded access to the Communications and Transmission Systems (CTS) IDIQ contract, DRS will compete for various task orders that are expected to range from systems engineering and integration to test and evaluation.
"CTS requirements encompass a broad range of communications systems and technologies, with corresponding management and administrative responsibilities. We are perfectly positioned to perform on this contract, having successfully supported the Army around the world for over a decade. The Army's new CTS contract vehicle allows us to continue our tradition of excellent service by economically and effectively satisfying a broad range of communications-related requirements wherever needed," said Mitch Rambler, President of DRS's ACHS business group.
