Direct Relief bags Esri’s special achievement award for GIS

US: Medical relief non-profit Direct Relief has won Esri’s Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award for its role in developing map applications for the One-Million Community Health Workers campaign (1mCHW), a joint initiative of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network and the Earth Institute at Columbia University.

“By providing Direct Relief and other nonprofits with such powerful spatial analysis tools like ArcGIS, Esri is making a profound impact on a broad range of global challenges,” stated Andrew Schroeder, Director of Research and Analytics at Direct Relief. More than 170 organisations from around the world and across a variety of industries including agriculture, cartography, climate change, health and human services, and utilities, were honoured by Esri at the Esri UC 2015, in San Diego.
