Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging recently announced Digital Aerial Solutions (DAS) has obtained its second Leica ADS40 Airborne Digital Sensor, which will enable the company to double its collection capacity and facilitate faster turnaround in providing high quality digital data products to its customers. The Leica ADS40 is a high performance all-digital large format sensor which significantly reduces the time, effort and cost needed for data acquisition while improving the quality of the imagery to our clients.
Digital Aerial Solutions is a full-service commercial provider of digital aerial imagery and geospatial products. DAS employs a complete digital acquisition process utilizing Leica Geosystems products. The all digital workflow begins at mission flight planning. Leica GPro ground processing workstations then facilitate the generation of georeferenced and orthorectified images, which are stored in the Leica GeoVault storage and retrieval system. DAS set up its Geovault system as an interactive storage system where potential customers can search DAS’s database of aerial coverage via a nationwide map. Through a link from the DAS website, all the users have to do is click on an area on the map to determine if DAS has archived imagery of that area.
Through the data collected by the Leica ADS40, DAS generates a range of standard imagery products including precision color orthorectified seamless mosaics, Digital Terrain Models and multispectral imagery. DAS serves a broad customer base that uses the data for a wide variety of applications such as urban planning, forestry and natural resource management, civil engineering, law enforcement and forensics, agriculture and emergency response projects.
