DARPA selects MDA to develop new big data technologies

US: MDA Information Systems LLC (MDA-IS) has received research funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop a scalable, extensible, open source platform for data processing, archiving and dissemination. This contract is part of DARPA”s XDATA programme, a 4-year research effort that seeks to develop new computational techniques and open source software tools for processing and analysing data, motivated by defense needs. MDA-IS has been selected by DARPA as a performer in the technical area of data processing technology. The contract is administered by the Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, NY.
