CyberSWIFT develops GIS tool to smoothen election process

Kolkata, India: CyberSWIFT, a global IT services and geospatial solutions provider, developed web based GIS polling booths for Government of West Bengal in India. It aims to help the state’s Chief Electoral Officer keep a track of the polling booths from the website (www.ceowestbengal.nic.in).
The system provides a map showing the detailed location and nearby landmarks of all the 51,919 polling booths in the area. It also provides details of the polling stations like records of past violence and disturbance, updates about the present law and order situation, and a detailed insight of the number of personnel arranged for polling and security reasons. It covers the entire region falling within 200-meter radius of each booth, including approach roads and nearby installations.
