Cumberland Gap adding online map to park features

MIDDLESBORO, Ky., UK — Visitors to Cumberland Gap National Historic Park may be able to take in the great outdoors from indoors. The park is experimenting with new technology on their website involving Google Earth and maps of the park being created by scientists.

Once downloaded and installed, users can type in any address and watch as the satellite images pinpoint the location they choose. Park Ranger and website manager for the park, Scott Teodorski said that scientists at the park are creating different kinds of maps of the area, which can then be integrated with Google Earth.
