ESRI, the a provider of GIS software, and The Omega Group have announced that CrimeView® 2002 was distinguished with two awards in the ESRI ArcGIS Challenge Contest. CrimeView received The People’s Choice award, receiving the most votes from attendees of the Solutions EXPO where the contest was judged. CrimeView also placed second in the category of Best Integrated Solution.
The ArcGIS Challenge Contest was designed to highlight ESRI business partners who have developed solution products based on ArcGIS, ESRI’s flagship GIS software. The contest was held at the 2002 ESRI International Business Partner Conference held in Palm Springs, California, February 24-26, 2002. ArcGIS is the first complete, scaleable system for geographic data creation, management, integration, and analysis. It makes GIS tools accessible to virtually everyone within an organization.
CrimeView 2002 is the next generation in crime analysis software, based on ESRI’s new ArcGIS 8.x platform, and the first release of the new Omega GIS family of products. CrimeView 2002 offers the same ease of use that made previous versions of this crime analysis mapping application so popular, and also includes many enhancements based on the new technology.
CrimeView can now be used as part of an enterprise solution for law enforcement and public safety agencies by integrating it with CrimeView Internet, CrimeView Community, and FireView.
