Course on geoinformatics in Gulbarga University

The Environmental Science Department of Gulbarga University in India is organising a short term course on basics of geoinformatics for teachers from January 2 to 25 at its campus. Sponsored by the ISRO under the National Natural Resources Management System the course will be attended by 20 teachers -10 teaching faculty from engineering colleges of Gulbarga, Bhalki, Basavakalayan and Bangalore and the remaining participants will be from geology, geography and environmental science fields from various universities of Karnataka and officials from zilla panchayat. Resource persons from ISRO head quarters, Bangalore; Regional Remote Sensing Service Centres, Bangalore; National Remote Sensing Agency, Hyderabad; Karnataka State Remote Sensing Applications Centre, Bangalore, will be delivering lectures on various topics concerning remote sensing and geoinformatics. The objective of the workshop is to train teachers from colleges in order to equip them to teach the subjects when the Gulbarga University starts new job oriented courses for the benefit of the students of Hyderabad Karnataka region.
