Cambridge UK, 25th May 2006: Laser-Scan announced the provision of services to manage spatial data quality and PAI for East Ayrshire Council in the West of Scotland. Laser-Scan is working with East Ayrshire Council to ensure that the Planning and Building Services Division’s GIS is brought in line with Ordnance Survey Great Britain’s (OSGB) maps, in accordance with their PAI (Positional Accuracy Improvement) programme.

The overall project aims at managing the movement of East Ayrshire Council’s geographic information in line with the OSGB map base movements and changing as a result of their PAI programme whilst maintaining existing services.

By investing in Laser-Scan’s service, East Ayrshire can make certain that their data will line up with Ordnance Survey base reference mapping. This will future-proof their data, providing an easy and robust framework for their impending migration to Ordnance Survey (OS) MasterMap, and set the foundations for their future plans to publish maps online and make them available to citizens.
