Intergraph Hong Kong Limited, a subsidiary of US-based Intergraph Corporation has announced that Companhia de Telecomunicacoes de Macau S.A.R.L. (CTM) has purchased G/Comms, Intergraph’s next-generation geospatial information management industryware for telecommunications companies. CTM maintains and operates one of the most modern and efficient telecommunications systems in the world with approximately 375,000 mobile and fixed-line customers. Additionally, CTM has become the biggest Internet Services provider in Macau and has provided broadband service since 1999.
By upgrading its GIS, CTM strengthens its ongoing commitment to efficiently and economically provide customers with high quality, readily available local and international telecommunications services.
The company’s goal is to achieve an integrated Geospatial Resource Management (GRM) environment, in which pre-integrated solutions allow a seamless workflow among applications that provision and maintain its service-delivery network. G/Comms and its family of products are based on standard, non-proprietary programming tools and represent commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software. These characteristics set the stage for ongoing application extensions and easy maintenance and upgrades, thereby supporting CTM in maintaining the system over the long term. G/Comms will also easily interface to their existing Access Network Management System (ANIS) and Network Information System (NIMS).
Intergraph Hong Kong Limited will provide software technology, consulting and implementation services, and data migration for the project. The project is on a fast-track schedule, with completion anticipated in approximately 12 months.
