Ontario, Canada, 23 April 2007: Orion Technology announced that they have been selected by the City of Cleveland Division of Water to implement Orion’s enterprise Web-GIS solutions: OnPoint Professional, Web-Editor and InstaMAP.
The City of Cleveland Enterprise GIS (CEGIS) group will deploy OnPoint as part of their citywide GIS implementation. After 4 years of utility and landbase data conversion efforts the Division of Water will utilize ArcGIS and OnPoint to manage and serve their 5,200 mile distribution system geodatabase. The City delivers safe water to more than 1.5 million people within a 640 square mile service area. In addition to serving the needs of the Department of Utilities, OnPoint will serve as the central GIS portal for all City Departments.
Orion’s OnPoint Professional solution will allow CEGIS to integrate data throughout the entire organization into one single spatial interface, including municipality base map data, locations of consumer meters, substations, and transformers. With OnPoint’s ability to connect spatial data sources include ESRI ArcIMS, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server, OGC (WMS & WFS), Microsoft MapPoint, and Pictometry. OnPoint also connects to non spatial data sources in Oracle, SQL Server, and any other ODBC complaint database to allow more user interaction with business data and provide one view to all of an organization’s data.
