China: Hebie, a Chinese province is planning to develop a GIS system to map its forest. The project will be a part of Hebei Forest Protection and Utilisation Plan (2010-2020).

The map will include details such as the ownership of the land and the key commodities produced in a particular area. This will help in gauging the productivity of forests. The project will also include wetlands and parks in the province.
