China to help Pakistan in water resource management

Islamabad, Pakistan: Researchers from China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR) will train officials of the Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) in hydrologic modelling, remote sensing technology, water and waste water treatment, etc. It was decided during the visit of IWRH Vice Chief Engineer of Department of Structure and Material Dr Feng Minghui to PCRWR Headquarters.
IWHR is China’s largest research institute in the water sector with 13 research departments and five affiliated enterprises and was established in 1933 under the Ministry of Water Resources. It specialises in hydrology and water resources, water environment and ecology, flood control, drought relief and disaster reduction, soil and water conservation, river and lake management hydraulics, geotechnical engineering, earthquake engineering, hydro machinery and electrical equipment, renewable power resources, and remote sensing technology.
