China: China has successfully launched remote sensing satellites for the purpose of conducting electromagnetic probes and other similar experiments. The satellites were launched on a Long March-2C rocket from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwestern Sichuan province, as per a Xinhua news agency report. The launch is the 256th mission of the Long March rocket family.
The satellites have entered the preset orbit and the launch mission has been declared successful. China had previously launched three remote sensing satellites designed to improve observation capability to promote commercial utility for the remote sensing industry.
The satellites were carried by a Long March-6 rocket, which is a new generation of liquid-fueled carrier rocket developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
