Chile to adopt Italian emergency management system

Chile: Chile wants to apply Italian territorial cadastral and emergency management system. Catalina Parot, Minister of National Property, Chile met with Gabriella Alemanno, Director of the Agency of the Territory of Italy, who explained the systems.

According to the Italian minister, these systems gather public and private property information at one place, allow users plenty of benefits as they provides detailed knowledge of the territory and gives transparency to the property.

Chile minister also met with Mauro Salvemini, Director of the Laboratory of Information and president of Euroagi Territorial (European Association of Geographic Information), University of La Sapienza. With the director, the minister discussed know-how of managing spatial data and assessed the situation and state of the infrastructure of such organisations in Italy.

According to the director, there are two programmes that are taking place in Italy one that seeks to establish a standardised protocol and other spatial information for emergency management of disasters.
