Canadian Geomatics Conference to be held in June

Canada: The Canadian Geomatics Conference 2010 will be held June 15-18 in Calgary, Alberta. The conference theme, Convergence in Geomatics: Shaping Canada’s Competitive Landscape, will focus on the critical role geomatics can play in bolstering Canada’s productivity, innovation, global competitiveness and overall socio-economic well-being.

The GeoConnections program of Natural Resources Canada is participating in a number of conference events, including presentations on successes with the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI), and geomatics strategic policy and collaboration within Canada.

Other highlights include two free workshops on geospatial data policy and framework data, and a CGDI technical implementation session focusing on private sector innovation. Participants will also learn about the mandate and objectives of the recently renewed GeoConnections program.
