The city of Wetaskiwin, Canada has developed an on-line map for its use and is in the final stages of planning to release a version for the public. The public will soon have a bird’s eye view of Wetaskiwin.

The city has been using the GIS system since 2004 and is just finishing tan internal audit to make sure the system is web-safe. There will be several different versions for different areas. Information such as legal land addresses, garbage collection times and business links will be available for the public, said city development manager Randy Richards.
