Cabinet approves India-Ukraine space agreement

The Union Cabinet in India has approved the signing of a Framework Agreement between India and Ukraine for cooperation in peaceful uses of outer space and space research. The agreement, which was signed in June, this year in the presence of Presidents of the two countries, will remain in force for ten years after which it will automatically extend for another ten-year term. The agreement envisages cooperation between the two countries in basic space science, meteorology, remote sensing, geo-physics and space, radio sciences, aeronomy, space bio-technology, ionosphere and space plasma. It also provides for cooperation in joint research and development activities, construction, production, launch, operation and utilisation of launch vehicles, satellites and other space systems and ground infrastructure of space system including launching vehicles.
