BusinessMAP 3 now shipping

ESRI, the world leader in geographic information system (GIS) software, announced that BusinessMAP 3, the latest version of the affordable, easy-to-use database mapping solution for business, is now shipping. Designed for sales and marketing professionals, BusinessMAP 3 transforms information from databases, contact managers, spreadsheets, and electronic phone books into color-filled maps useful for making better business decisions.
The enhancements to BusinessMAP 3 include

  • Multilevel territories—Allows users to design territories with up to four levels of hierarchy by grouping territories into regions, areas, and divisions.
  • Routing—Provides street-level address-to-address routing for the entire United States, not just major metropolitan areas. Performs simple routes and optimized routes between multiple locations.
  • “What’s Nearby” feature—Allows users to find nearby hotels, restaurants, gas stations, hospitals, or other businesses from the Dun & Bradstreet listing of more than 16 million businesses. Users can also find nearby points from any other point feature layer on the map.
  • Drawing tools—Enables users to customize maps for clear communication. Draws circles, ovals, polygons, lines, or freehand lines and label maps with personalized comments and symbols.
  • Customizable toolbars—Allows users to add and remove command buttons so the program can be customized for a specific application.
  • Filter tool capability—Allows users to show only the geography needed as the focus of attention. Select one state or several states or define an area of interest by ZIP Code, county, or census tract.
  • In addition to its enhanced features, BusinessMAP 3 includes the most up-to-date, commonly used geographic, demographic, and business data available. The updated national data includes

  • Geography by state, county, ZIP Code, and census tract boundaries
  • GDT Dynamap/Transportation enhanced street maps for more than 35,000 U.S. towns
  • U.S. Census 2000 demographic information down to census tract level geography
  • Consumer expenditure data to county level from ESRI Business Information Solutions (formerly CACI Marketing Systems)
  • Dun & Bradstreet business listings
  • BusinessMAP 3 plots your database points on maps and allows you to perform color-code analysis and geographic searches. BusinessMAP 3 reads data in many formats including Access, ACT!, dBASE, Excel, GoldMine, Microsoft Outlook, and many more.
