Ordnance Survey’s network of business partners is doing well since the launch of its new Partner Initiative in September 2001, with 76 innovators developing location- or mapping-based applications or service ideas for market.

Among the applications underpinned by Ordnance Survey data are Global Positioning System (GPS) collars to keep track of stray animals and an Internet database providing the latest information on Britain’s housing market.
