Brazil space agency signs pact with ISRO

Brazilian space agency AEB has signed a MoU with ISRO for co-operation in space.

The memorandum will cover five broad areas such as co-operative programmes in satellites, use of sounding rockets, balloons and ground based facilities; operation of satellite ground stations, mission management; studies on communication, remote sensing, meteorology; training; and joint working groups and exchange of technical and scientific personnel, according to an ISRO release.

The Minister of State for Space, Ms Vasundhara Raje, who was present here, said there was good scope for joint activities and ventures between the two countries to use science and technology for development.

The MoU was signed by the AEB President, Dr Mucio Roberto Dias, and the ISRO Chairman, Dr K. Kasturirangan, in the presence of Brazil’s Science and Technology Minister, Mr Ronaldo Mota Sardenberg.
