Brazil-European Union Workshop discuss Earth Observation
The event, organized by the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) and the European Union (EU), takes place on Friday (06), as part of the Regional Meeting of the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC), scheduled for 5th and 6th, in São José dos Campos Technology Park (SP).
It aims to mobilize educational and research institutions as well as companies in the aerospace segment from Vale do Paraíba. Will be attending the opening directors Philippe Burnet, from the EU companies area, Petrônio Noronha de Souza from AEB ‘s Space Policy and Investment, and Leonel Perondi from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE).
Are scheduled nine speakers indicated by the EU and nine brazilian, linked to the Ministry of Environment (MMA), Secretariat for the Environment of São José dos Campos, Inpe, Embrapa, National Centre for Monitoring Natural Disasters and Alerts (Cemaden), National Water Agency (ANA), and the company Geoambiente.
The workshop includes a discussion on this following topics: Earth Observation – Data Dissemination of Space Infrastructures; Research and Industry; Food Safety and Crop Monitoring; Natural Disasters; Services and Users; Environmental Monitoring; and Water Resources.
The european presentations will give a special relevance to The Copernicus Program, a constellation of satellites to Earth observation of global coverage, whose first satellite, Sentinel – 1, was released on last April 3.
