BlackBridge imagery captures Valparaiso fire

Chile: BlackBridge has released satellite imagery of the devastating fire that started on April 12 and leaped from hilltop to densely populated hilltop of Valparaiso. The city of Valparaiso, now an official disaster zone, has already consumed 2,900 homes and killed 15 people while injuring hundreds more.

The emergency has forced evacuation of more than 10,000 people. More than 1,200 fire-fighters are battling the raging fire. The authorities inform that it may take 20 days to extinguish the fire. The city has been plagued throughout the history by wildfires that can spread quickly when the wind blows out to sea.
