Chile: The Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center, Chile, unveiled ‘Bioclimatic Atlas of Chile’. The Atlas provides detail about natural resources and species of conservation in Chile. The Atlas was jointly prepared by the University of Chile and Production Development Corporation (CORFO) Chile.
Commercial GIS tools were used to develop the atlas. As a result, 16 maps of continental Chile listing climate, hydroclimate and agroclimate of Chile were prepared. The maps are accessible online. The atlas includes maps of 1:250,000 scale.
In future, these maps will be integrated with other available data, incorporating economic, social and environmental variables.
