Beijing Waterworks Grou?s plans to meet the challenges of the 2008 Olympics

Beijing Waterworks Group, the largest water utility in China, purchased Haestad Methods’ WaterCAD® software to help the City of Beijing guarantee the reliability of its water distribution system for the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Support for the World Olympics is not new to Haestad Methods. Haestad Methods’ SewerCAD® sanitary sewer modeling software was used to help prepare the sanitary sewer facilities in Park City, Utah (USA) for the 2002 Winter Games. WaterCAD, Haestad Methods’ water distribution modeling software, was selected by Athens Water and Sewer (Greece) to upgrade its water system for the large influx of visitors that will be generated by the 2004 Olympics. Beijing will use WaterCAD in a similar manner to help modernize the City’s water facilities. Haestad Methods’ release of Chinese-version products and its local representation in China have both contributed to the success of winning the trust of clients in this region. The Beijing Waterworks contract demonstrates that Haestad Methods’ commitment to the Chinese market has been very well received and that local companies are confident in Haestad Methods’ ability to deliver water-modeling solutions.

The Chinese version of WaterCAD further solidifies Haestad Methods’ continued support to this sector and has been met with overwhelming interest from all the major water companies in China
