Base map of Middle East using Landsat 8 imagery released

UAE, February 27, 2015: PlanetObserver has released a new range of country base maps of Middle East processed from fresh Landsat 8 imagery.

The PlanetSAT 15 L8 maps offer 15-metre resolution, processed in natural colours from orthorectified Landsat 8 imagery. While maps for many Middle East countries such as Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria have already been released, maps of Iran, Saudi Arabia, as well as, the whole Arabian Peninsula and Maghreb countries will be soon made available, the company told media.

“PlanetSAT 15 L8 new range is a natural expansion of our imagery portfolio,” explains Laurent Masselot, CEO of PlanetObserver. “After the release of PlanetSAT 15 v4.2 global imagery base map, we’re now concentrating on the production of strong value-added country mosaics with fresh data.”
