Azerbaijan to introduce digital real estate cadastre

Azerbaijan: Deputy Chairman of the State Committee Rafig Jalilov announced that the services of Azerbaijan State Committee on State Property Management will be integrated into ‘single window’ system. Jalilov further stated that for this purpose work is underway to create a digital map of the real estate cadastre. The database of real estate will then be transferred into electronic form to create online registration system.

The electronic real estate registration project aims to increase transparency of property registration in Azerbaijan. Head of the group of the Real Estate Registration Project in Azerbaijan Malcolm Childress said that the creation of electronic services is very important as it will increase the functionality of the real estate registration system.

Electronic services for real estate registration will be implemented in two phases. Under the first phase, which was launched on March 1, citizens were able to file online applications.

The second phase, which will start from May 1, will provide an opportunity to customers to receive documents in a scanned format.

The real estate registration project in Azerbaijan is implemented by the World Bank. E-registration of real estate is part of the project.
