Azerbaijan studies Swedish cadastre system

Azerbaijan: The State Committee for Land & Cartography began studying European experience in the field of economic evaluation and appraisal of land.

The Committee informs that its delegation led by SCLC chairman Garib Mammadov visited the cities of Stockholm and Gavle within twinning-project “Creation of the modern state system of cadastre information registration with improvement of the rules of economic evaluation and appraisal of land in accord with the EU standards”.

“During the visit the delegation got acquainted with the state policy of Sweden in the land cadastre, geodesy and cartography, as well as with the European standards applicable in these areas. Training courses were organised for the Azerbaijani delegation to increase the institutional development of local experts in these areas,” it was reported.

The 18-month twinning project has been implemented since 8 October 2012. It implies work on three main components – strengthening of the relevant structures, development of methodology for assessing land and its integration into the state cadastre system, registration of information of the state land cadastre and creation of system of rural/urban state land cadastre.
