Azerbaijan seeks UNICEF’s assistance for social cartography

Azerbaijan: Azerbaijan is planning to develop social cartography to define the social needs in the regions. UNICEF Representative, Mark Herevard has proposed to cooperate in bringing the activity of social rehabilitation institutions in conformance to the international practice and transformation of the social services institutions for children, monitoring the non-government organisations activity in this sphere, developing the standards

Within the next year the country is planning to open social rehabilitation centers and social shelters for teenagers. “It’s very important for us to receive expert support from UNICEF to organize activity of such centers and to develop social cartography, so that the social needs in the regions could be identified. We also need assistance in social procurement management and increasing of potential of social services organisation,” said Salim Muslimov, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
