Hyderabad, India: Avineon India Private Ltd. received Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) certification. Avineon is an information technology (IT), geospatial and engineering service provider. The certification includes certification for the international standards of ISO 14001:2004 for EMS (Environment Management System) and OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) 18001:2007. Following an independent audit, Avineon India Private Ltd. is now ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 compliant.
According to the company’s press statement, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is the world’s largest developer and publisher of international standards. ISO 14001:2004 outlines requirements to build and maintain environmental management systems based on legal and industry standards. It assists organisations in protecting the environment, preventing pollution, and in improving their overall environmental performance. OHSAS 18001:2007 is an international standard related to occupational health and safety management systems. This standard outlines the actions an organisation should undertake in order to mitigate the occupational hazards of its activities.
