Avineon, Inc., a GIS data conversion, data migration, and data management services announced that it has successfully completed data migration for Snohomish County Public Utility District No. 1 as part of an overall GIS Landbase Enhancement Project. Snohomish County Public Utility District No. 1 (the District) is the second largest publicly owned utility in the Pacific Northwest and the twelfth largest in the nation in terms of customers served with a total number of customers above 275,000. The District’s service area consists of approximately 2,200 square miles, including all of Snohomish County and Camano Island in Island County, Washington. The utility maintains over 5,000 miles of distribution line. Avineon realigned the District’s facility data from their existing cadastral landbase to a new landbase based upon current digital orthophotography. Avineon’s use of the District’s GIS model functionality and Virtual Private Network technology minimized the schedule and technical risks.
