India, 6 October 2006 – Autodesk Inc. has launched the ‘Educational Solution Sets 2007’ (ESS 2007) program, a comprehensive package for educational institutions across India. The ESS 2007 program provides the complete suite of the latest Autodesk Software, Courseware, Subscription and a host of other benefits in a single package to meet the curriculum requirements of educational institutes focusing on Architecture, Civil and Mechanical engineering.
Autodesk’s ESS 2007 is based on the latest 2007 suite of products including the AutoCAD 2007 platform. The program is designed to eliminate the inconvenience currently faced by department heads of institutions in selecting software for a respective discipline through multiple software providers.
Key highlights of the Education Solution Sets 2007 program includes:
– Multi-year subscription model, which allows institutions to upgrade software on an ongoing basis rather than upgrading individual software as and when the next versions of respective software are released.
– Autodesk has developed comprehensive courseware, to help the trainers understand the features of the software and impart knowledge to the students in the best possible manner.
– Autodesk will also organize periodic training programs for faculty members of the institutes to update them on the revised versions.
Rajiv Nair, Regional Director, Autodesk India, said, “As part of its education initiative, Autodesk is focused on familiarizing and educating India’s student community with the latest 3D model-based designing technologies. The Education Solution Sets 2007 program is a step undertaken by Autodesk to achieve this stated goal. This unique program will enable education institutes purchase all the required software tools through one single vendor thereby making software investment cost-effective and easier.”
“We have studied the existing course curriculum in-depth and have adapted the software courseware to suit the engineering concepts taught as opposed to command and feature set training. We are confident that the program will serve as an effective tool to groom architects, civil and mechanical engineers of the future,” added Nair.
