New Zealand: Christchurch-based Interpret Geospatial Solutions, originally a division of Abley Transportation Consultants (ATC), has now become a stand-alone brand. The new company was launched at the New Zealand Esri User Conference in Auckland.
Internet Geospatial Solutions recently helped the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) in compiling its 100 worst intersection list. It analysed the data to highlight potential risks, forecasting events and finding out where to look for potential dangers. “GIS (geographic information systems) has taken off in New Zealand to the point where we had to set up a new Christchurch-based business to meet growing demand for GIS analysis,” said Steve Abley, the Managing Director of ATC. He said the new business will focus on revealing the facts lying behind geospatial data.
