Bali, Indonesia: The 34th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS), held recently in Bali, witnessed an overwhelming response from the Asian remote sensing community. Around 800 participants and 38 exhibitors participated in the event. Opening the conference, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Gusti Muhammad Hatta, Indonesian Minister for Research and Technology (RISTEK), urged the remote sensing research community to work together with government and industry to commercialise their findings. “With the recently approved Space Act Law no 21, 2013, Indonesia shall make optimal use of remote sensing technology especially to address global challenges,” he added. The 35th ACRS will be held in Myanmar in 2014.
