USA: Amazon is now exploring more ways of using drones that would not only deliver packages but would also provide surveillance services to its customers according to a patent granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Reuters reported.
The patent described that the delivery drones could be used to record videos of the property of the users to gather data to look out for broken windows, fire or if the garage was left open.
This service of the drones could be limited through geo-fencing, a technology used to draw a virtual boundary around the property under surveillance. In case, the drone captures any image outside the geo-fence, it shall be removed, according to the patent.
This patent was granted to Amazon on June 4th and the application was filed in 2015.
Amazon also said that in the coming months drones would deliver packages to customers in less than 30 minutes.
