France: Airbus Defence and Space recently launched a Machine-to-Machine (M2M) management solution called Proximity M2M, designed to simplify the integration and management of satellite communication components within standard M2M networks and applications. Proximity M2M helps maintain real-time data delivery in an M2M network using devices ranging from low data rate Lightweight M2M (LWM2M) systems to high-speed Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT)-based IP terminals.
Airbus Defence and Space’s new solution provides 24-hour online access to scalable monitoring applications featuring remote terminal management, location-based services, and bidirectional messaging. The web portal also provides advanced reporting functionalities for performance analysis and a multi-user management structure to administrate user access levels. Proximity M2M sends automatic alerts if the system detects an issue with any terminal inside the network.
“We are focusing on making it easy for our customers and partners to build, deploy, monitor and operate their connected M2M solutions beyond terrestrial networks,” said Danny Côté, Head of enterprise at Airbus Defence and Space.
