In the 9th International Users’ Forum for Geo Information Systems held on February 23rd and 24th 2005 in Duisburg, Germany, more than 300 visitors gained an overview and detailed insights into the latest GIS trends and solutions for land management, utilities as well as local authorities and e-government. The special emphasis on this years’ forum lay on:
· the realization of AFIS-ALKIS-ATKIS in the respective Federal States
· the set-up of geodata infrastructures on all administrative levels
· the integration of network information into the IT as well as the processes of utilities.
· portal solutions in the web as information exchange for Cities and Counties
This event brings together the users from three different GIS application areas, namely, cadastre, utilities and Local Authorities, and thus opens up the entire value creation chain from the creation of the data via the management of the GIS until their demand-oriented retrieval and the multiple use through other users in companies and authorities.
