Dubai, UAE: ABC Surveys, one of UAE’s leading survey companies, was recently awarded the contract for survey works in the prestigious Al Sofouh tram line project in the Emirate of Dubai. The project was awarded by Belgium-based construction company Six Construct.
Under this project, ABC Surveys would be obligated to establish and coordinate control networks on the tram line project.
Being built in Al Sufouh, Dubai, the 14.7 kilometres long Al Sufouh Tramway project had been stalled for the past three years. Dubai has raised USD 675 million (AED 2.47 billion) to restart the project and the first phase is expected to be completed in the first half of 2014.
The first phase of the project will witness the construction of a 10.7 km-long track beginning from the Dubai Marina station and ending at the Mall of the Emirates. The total network comprises of 19 passenger stations out of which 13 will be constructed under the first phase. These stations will be spread across population density and activity areas along the tram route.
